Police Seeking Witnesses In Deadly Route 36 Pedestrian Crash
Police are looking to speak with anyone who may have seen a 60-year-old man just before he was struck and killed along Route 36 last week. Dennis Bannon, of Leonardo, was found lying in the roadway after being struck by a vehicle near Navy Weapons Station Earle around 8:05 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 in Middletown, Deputy Police Chief Paul Bailey said. Bannon had been walking on the roadway prior to the crash, Bailey said. The driver was cooperative with police during the investigation. Man Seriously Injured After Crash On Route 287:

A man suffered serious injuries following a collision on Route 287 in Somerset County on the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 18. At 5:18 p.m., a Ford pickup truck was traveling northbound on Route 287 in Bridgewater Township when it veered off the roadway to the right, struck the guardrail and then crossed into another lane, and hit another guardrail, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The driver, a 66-year-old Lake Hopatcong resident sustained serious injuries, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

Man Killed By Police In South Jersey Identified, Details Released
Authorities have released details and identified the man killed by police on Saturday, Oct. 19in Burlington County. Officers responding to smoke coming from a Pemberton home on Woodland Avenue around 3:20 p.m., New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin said. They were notified that a man later identified as Marvin Taylor, 57, had a firearm and was in the backyard. A 40-year-old fugitive captured 14 years after shooting a man in the face in Ocean County will remain held pending trial, authorities announced. Marciano Sanchez, who had been named to the "New Jersey's Most Wanted" list, was captured earlier this month in New York City, as previously reported by Daily Voice.
