Man Killed While Walking Across Route 9 In Central Jersey, Prosecutors Say
A man was hit by a vehicle and killed while crossing a busy road in Freehold Township, authorities said. The crash happened at around 8:56 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, a spokesperson for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said. The wreck was at the intersection of Route 9 North and East Freehold Road. A 56-year-old man died in the crash. Man, 21, Suffers Critical Head Injuries When UTV Overturns In South Jersey, Police Say
An Egg Harbor Township man was critically injured when his utility terrain vehicle (UTV) overturned on a road, authorities said. In a news release, Egg Harbor Township police said the 21-year-old was heading west on the 300 block of Dogwood Avenue at around 6:08 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31. The man lost control of the UTV and he was ejected when it overturned. The man suffered major head injuries and he needed CPR from bystanders and officers. He was the only person on the UTV. Crash Closes Jersey Shore Road For Several Hours, Police Say
A crash closed a road in Ocean County for several hours, authorities said. East Veterans Highway was shut down between South Hope Chapel Road and Whitesville Road, the Jackson Township Police Department said in a Facebook post at 2:06 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1. Traffic was also blocked from Pitney Lane onto East Veterans Highway. Officers said the road would be closed for several hours. Police haven't said how many vehicles were involved or if anyone was injured. Residents living in the area near the crash can notify officers directing traffic to get access to their homes.

A 72-year-old driver from Florida was killed in a crash along Route 49 in Atlantic County, authorities said. Troopers responded to the crash at about 8 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, on Route 49 West at milepost 49 in Estell Manor, according to New Jersey State Police spokesman Sgt. Charles Marchan. Based on a preliminary investigation, Mark Jones of Cape Coral, FL, was driving a Ford Escape when it traveled off the road and struck a tree, Marchan said. Person Injured When Vehicle Crashes Into Utility Pole In South Jersey: Police
A person was injured when a vehicle crashed into a utility pole and overturned in South Jersey, authorities said. The vehicle struck a utility pole in front of Bagel King on West County Line Road in Jackson Township on Tuesday, July 30, police Chief Matthew Kunz said. A Facebook user posted a picture of the damage from the crash at around 7:25 a.m. The picture showed a dark-colored vehicle on its side. The utility pole was damaged and wires were hanging low over the crash site. One person in the vehicle suffered minor injuries, Chief Kunz said.

The crash occurred at about 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 25 on the southbound ramp to Exit 26S in Bellmawr, according to NJDOT.
