Horses Extricated From Trailer In NJ Turnpike Crash, Firefighters Say
Several horses were medically treated after the trailers they were being towed in were struck on the New Jersey Turnpike Tuesday, Sept. 10, firefighters said. The Cherry Hill Fire Department said the crash happened in the southbound lanes near milepost 26, and involved a utility van and a truck towing the trailer. A crash closed a road in Ocean County for several hours, authorities said. East Veterans Highway was shut down between South Hope Chapel Road and Whitesville Road, the Jackson Township Police Department said in a Facebook post at 2:06 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1.
