Severe Thunderstorm Watch In Effect For Much Of Region
A cold front moving across the region is being accompanied by a rapidly moving line of showers and isolated thunderstorms, some of which are expected to be severe, with damaging winds that could cause power outages. The time frame for storm activity from the system moving from west to east is from around 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13, according to the National Weather Service. A flash flood warning was issued for North and Central Jersey ahead of a storm system making its way into the region Monday night. The second heat wave of Summer 2021 is here in the Northeast and expected to last throughout the week, forecasters say. The hottest days of the week will likely be on Monday and Tuesday, with a chance of afternoon thunderstorms all week.
