Surfing Teacher Rescues Jersey Shore Swimmer While Filming Promo Video For Boogie Board
A teacher saved a Jersey Shore swimmer in distress while surfing over the weekend, and he just so happened to capture it on video.
US Marine Steve Houser, of Toms River, went to LBI Sunday, Sept. 3, to film a promo video for one of Tandm Surf's boards
Oh, what a video they got.
Houser — who works as a special education history teacher in the PATHS program at Piscataway High School — was surfing out teaching his daughter how to surf when he spotted the struggling swimmers.

One of the largest beachfront music festivals in the region is gearing up for its big return to Asbury Park.
Green Day and Stevie Nicks have been announced as headliners for the annual Sea.Hear.Now Festival, a two-day music event that will treat fans to more than 25 performances Saturday, Sept. 17 and Sunday, Sept. 1. The festival will run across three stages at North Beach Asbury Park and Bradley Park.

Jersey Shore Native, Beloved Photographer Dies Suddenly, 36
Jersey Shore native and beloved photographer Walter Kelly McCaffrey, Jr. died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 5. He was 36.
Walter grew up in Barnegat and graduated from South Regional High School, his obituary and social media pages say.
Walter then went on to graduate from Colorado Mountain College before moving to Denver, where he was studying economics at the University of Colorado, his memorial says.
Walter was a skilled photographer and enjoyed cycling, snowboarding, and surfing, his obituary says.
