EMS Volunteer Killed In Motorcycle Crash On Route 9 Jersey Shore A volunteer member of the Bayville First Aid Squad was killed when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle turning from Route 9 into a shopping center parking lot in Forked River, authorities said. Michael McCabe, 49, was riding north on Route 9 and the southbound vehicle driven by 55-year-old Anne Danza of Forked River was turning left into Sunset Plaza at 5:59 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30, Lacey police said. Police ID Jersey Shore Drowning Victim, 46 Authorities have identified the man who drowned Wednesday, Sept. 14 off Ortley Beach. Matthew Mauro, 46, was brought to shore by Seaside Heights Beach Patrol units via jet skis around 1:55 p.m., Toms River police said. CPR was immediately initiated before Mauro was taken to Community Medical Center. He was pronounced dead by hospital staff. Toms River police, Seaside Heights Beach and Fire units, Tri-Boro First Aid, TRPD CSO's and RWJ Paramedics all assisted with resuscitation efforts.

Update: Wife Killed, Husband, Toddlers Seriously Injured In Horrific Route 287 Piscataway Crash A Jamaica, NY woman was killed while her husband and two toddlers survived a Route 287 Piscataway crash with serious injuries, authorities said. Amarjit Fnu, 37, also of Jamaica, NY, was behind the wheel of a Toyota Rav 4 when the car veered off the roadway, crashed into a tree and overturned just south of Exit 7 at around 3:35 a.m. Thursday, New Jersey State Police Lt. Theodore Schafer said. All three passengers including his wife, Dheer Fnu, 30, and two toddlers were ejected, Schafer said.
