Truck Driver Hospitalized After Crash On Route 55 In Deptford (Update) A truck driver was hospitalized after running off Route 55 in Deptford, authorities said. A portion of Route 55 was closed for more than two hours due to the crash on Wednesday, July 24, according to the NJDOT. Troopers responded at about 4 p.m. on Route 55 north milepost 59.6, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a New Jersey State Police spokesman. Driver, 31, Dead In Route 55 Crash Authorities have identified the man who died in a crash on Route 55 Tuesday. A Cadillac was heading south in the right lane of the highway when it struck a Chevrolet Express van in the left lane around 4:40 p.m. in Deptford, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. The Cadillac side swiped the van, then traveled off of the roadway to the right and struck a tree. near milepost 55.4, Marchan said. The Cadillac driver, 31-year-old Nahum Ramirez- Lopez, of Vineland, was pronounced dead.  The crash remains under investigation and there is no additional information available …

NJ Corrections Officer Dies In Route 55 Crash, PA Driver Seriously Injured A 25-year-old man died when a car struck his vehicle while stopped in the shoulder of Route 55, authorities said. Joshua Beardsworth, of Pittsgrove Township, was stopped in his BMW on the right shoulder of the highway when a car -- also on the northbound side -- struck him in Vineland around 7:40 p.m., NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry said. The 27-year-old driver from Lansdale, PA -- Trevor Annunziata, who was driving a Volkswagon -- was hospitalized with serious injuries, while Beardsworth was killed.
