Family Of Driver, 24, Killed In GSP Crash Gets $2.15M Settlement From Dump Truck Owner
The estate of a 24-year-old man who was killed in a crash on the Garden State Parkway has reportedly settled a lawsuit against his former employer for $2.15 million. Brandon Lawson, of Manchester Township, was driving a dump truck owned by Farmingdale-based Galderese Trucking when its brakes failed on the southbound Parkway in Egg Harbor Township in the middle of the afternoon on Jan. 6, 2021, authorities said. The truck veered off the road, struck a guardrail and then rolled onto the median, New Jersey State Police said at the time. Lawson was pronounced dead at the scene, they said.…

18-Year-Old Killed In Head-On Atlantic County Crash: Police
An 18-year-old driver from Egg Harbor City was killed in a head-on crash in Hamilton Township, authorities said. Jamyre Dewey Jr. was traveling east on Route 40 at 7:54 p.m. on Sunday, July 30 when his Mitsubishi Galant crossed the center line and crashed into a westbound Toyota Highlander, Hamilton Township police said. Dewey Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt, police said. Beware while traveling here: New Jersey's Route 72 was voted as the 21st most feared road trip in the country in a survey by Gunther Mitsubishi. Route 72 cuts through the Pine Barrens, a remote, forested and relatively isolated region of the Garden State. An 8-year-old child died and three other people were injured in a Gloucester County crash Saturday, May 27, authorities said. A Subaru driver was passing vehicles in the center grass median and left shoulder along Route 55 north when they struck a Honda on the driver's side and lost control around 1:45 p.m. in Mantua Township, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Authorities have identified the two people killed in the double-decker Megabus overturn on the NJ Turnpike Tuesday, Aug. 9, authorities said. Cheryl Johnson, 59, of Bronx, N.Y., was pronounced dead at the scene, while Cecilia Kiyanitza, 66, of Woodbury, N.J. was airlifted to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
