State Police: 8 Injured In Work Van Crash On Garden State Parkway
Eight people were injured after a work van collided with a minivan on the Garden State Parkway In Atlantic County Tuesday afternoon, state police said. The work van crashed into a minivan, causing the minivan to overturn in the northbound lanes near milepost 47.3 in Port Republic just before 2:35 p.m., NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry told Daily Voice. The eight occupants of the minivan suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Curry said. The crash remains under investigation, authorities said.

A motorist who stopped to help another motorist involved in a crash was struck and killed in South Jersey, authorities said. Atlantic City police were called to Route 30 on a report of a collision about 10 p.m. Wednesday, a department spokesman said. The fleeing driver of a vehicle that crashed into two others in Paterson during a pre-dawn New Jersey State Police chase Sunday tossed a gun out the window, authorities said. The occupant of one of the struck vehicles was hospitalized with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening following the crash at 10th Avenue and East 24th Street around 2 a.m., responders said. State Police have identified the two men killed in last week's tractor-trailer crash in which watermelons were strewn across the New Jersey Turnpike in Mercer County. Malcom Cope, 55, of Douglas, Georgia, and Van Huston, 56, of Jamaica, New York, were pronounced dead after the northbound truck veered off the turnpike, struck a guard rail and slammed into a concrete bridge support near milepost 60.3, state troopers said. Stephanie Santora, of Jackson, was behind the wheel of an unknown vehicle that was struck by a truck pulling a utility trailer east in the left lane of Route 24 near mile post 5.7 at 12:22 p.m., NJSP Sgt. State Police ID South Jersey Motorcyclist, 24, Killed In Weekend Crash
Authorities have identified a motorcyclist killed in a weekend crash in South Jersey as an Atlantic County resident. Miguel Lebron, 24, of Galloway Township, was riding a motorcycle north on Shaffer Avenue in Lawrence Township, Cumberland County, about 6:40 a.m. on Saturday when the vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a tree, according to Sgt. First Class Lawrence Peele, a New Jersey State Police spokesman. Lebron was pronounced dead at the scene, Peele said on Tuesday. Funeral arrangements are being handled by DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home in Vineland.

A severe thunderstorm triggered multiple house fires and downed trees in Monmouth and Ocean counties Wednesday morning. A 33-year-old man from South Jersey was killed and his 29-year-old passenger seriously hurt Saturday in Montana when their SUV struck trees and rolled down a rocky embankment, authorities said.
