UPDATE: A tow truck driver was fighting for his life after he was gravely injured by an out-of-control vehicle while responding to a previous accident on Route 3 in Rutherford, authorities said. Six people were hospitalized with minor injuries from a fire that ravaged two Hackensack homes, authorities said. Firefighters were met by heavy flames on both floors in both wood-frame Franklin Street residences shortly before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. They rescued a dog who was returned to his or her owner. Fire Consumes Little Ferry Auto Body Shop
A worker was injured when a fierce fire blew through an auto body shop Saturday afternoon in Little Ferry, authorities said. The blaze broke out at Chizzy's Truck & Auto Repair on Bergen Turnpike off Route 46 around 2 p.m. It quickly went to two alarms.
