Jersey Shore City Cracking Down On 'Pop-Up' Parties, Adding Police Along Beaches
A city in Monmouth County said it's renewing an effort to crack down on unauthorized “pop-up” parties. The mayor and public safety director of Long Branch issued a joint statement on Tuesday, June 4 about a "significant police presence" over the upcoming weekend. The city said a "pop-up" event was advertised on social media that was scheduled for Saturday, June 8. Paterson Detectives Nab 16-Year-Old Street Dealer With Gun, Heroin, Crack
Paterson detectives busted a 16-year-old city boy Monday with dozens of heroin folds, several vials of crack and a loaded gun, authorities said. Investigators working the "hot spot" neighborhood on and around the corner of 10th Avenue and 26th Street watched as the teen adjusted and then removed the gun from his waistband, Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said. Leaving the gun in a windbreaker, the boy crossed the street before the detectives moved in and grabbed him outside a local market, Speziale said. NJ Dominos Pizza Delivery Driver Carjacked At Gunpoint
A pizza delivery driver was carjacked at gunpoint in Essex County, authorities said. The Dominos driver was approached from behind by an unknown individual, who placed a hard object believed to be a handgun to his back and demanded the vehicle on Ella Street in Bloomfield on Sept. 25, Public Safety Director Samuel DeMaio said. The suspect fled on Ella Street and went east on Bloomfield Avenue. The car was recovered the following day around 1:20 a.m., in Newark. The incident remains under investigation.
