A former Brick Township official, once celebrated as a top professional in his field, has admitted to stealing nearly $10,000 in township recreation fees, authorities said. Daniel Santaniello, 46, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, Dec. 10 to theft, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release. A former New Jersey corrections officer admitted to assaulting a resident who died several days after the attack, authorities said. Giuseppe Mandara of Brick Township pleaded guilty on Tuesday, Dec. 3 to third-degree aggravated assault, Attorney General Matthew Platkin and the state's Office of Public Integrity and Accountability said in a news release on Wednesday, Dec. 4. A Cape May County corrections officer will spend more than a quarter-century in prison for sexually assaulting a girl younger than 13 years old, authorities said. Jonathan Perez, 35, of Woodbine, was sentenced on Thursday, Aug. 8 to 30 years in state prison, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland said in a news release. A retired New Jersey police chief admitted trying to cover up a sexual affair with a subordinate, authorities said. Andrew Kudrick, 50, will be banned for life from public employment and will receive probation instead of prison time in exchange, state Attorney General Matthew Platkin said. A former Atlantic County elections official is sentenced after pleading guilty to a kickback scheme nearly seven years ago, authorities said. Michael Gibbons, 38, of Glendora was sentenced on Friday, Jan. 12 to four years probation, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced on Monday, Jan. 22. The conditions of Gibbons' probation require him to spend 364 days in Atlantic County Jail, which can be served by day reporting. A 40-year-old treasurer of a PBA union stole more than $53,725 from the fund's account, authorities said. Tanya Evans of Vineland was sentenced Monday for convictions on charges of theft and filing a fraudulent tax return, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae.
