Body Recovered From Delaware & Raritan Canal In Mercer County
First responders were pulling a body from the Delaware & Raritan Canal in Mercer County on Wednesday afternoon, July 3, authorities said. New Jersey State Park Police and the Trenton Fire Department’s Water Rescue Team were called to a part of the canal in Lawrence Township to recover the body, according to Caryn Shinske, a spokeswoman with the state Department of Environmental Protection. A medical examiner was en route to the scene at 2:15 p.m., she said. Additional details weren’t immediately available.

Northfield resident Elliot Ganiel's vehicle was found at the Mullica River Canoe Landing in Batsto, local police said. The search for a missing person ended tragically when their body was found near a New Jersey mountain, authorities said. The person, whose name is being withheld, was last seen on Friday, Aug. 18, according to Hopewell Township and Pennington Borough police. A New Jersey Park Police officer has been arrested on child pornography charges, authorities said. Patrick Kelly, 37, of Winslow Township, was arrested on Monday, April 17, at New Jersey State Park Police Headquarters in Egg Harbor City, they said.
