Man Sentenced In Jersey Shore Cocaine-Dealing Ring
A Monmouth County man will spend several years in prison after he was part of a cocaine-selling network throughout New Jersey, authorities said. Mark Capichana, 56, of Keyport, was sentenced on Friday, Feb. 2 to 14 years in prison, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced. Capichana received two seven-year sentences that will run consecutively after entering a guilty plea. Capichana was arrested as part of "Operation Checkmate," an investigation between June and October 2021. A patrolman at the Jersey Shore has been arrested and charged with engaging in a pattern of illegal behavior with a teenage girl, authorities said. Kevin Ruditsky, 46, who works in Manalapan Township, is believed to have sent the 16-year-old girl sexually explicit photos and handcuffed her during a traffic stop, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago. Authorities have released a photo of a 15-year-old girl who ran away from home. At approximately 11:22 a.m. Friday, Marlboro police received a call from the mother residing at 20 Silvers Road in Marlboro who said she was involved in an argument with her daughter, and her daughter had left the house. A 29-year-old man from the Jersey Shore has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child in connection to his son's suspicious death, authorities said. Driver Killed In U-Haul Truck Crash ID'd As Spotswood Woman, 53
Marlboro police released the name of the driver who died on Monday after her car toppled a telephone pole and collided with a parked U-Haul truck. Donna Piegaro, 53, of Spotswood was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which closed Route 9 southbound for more than nine hours from Old Bridge to Manalapan Township, a Marlboro police spokesman said.
