Lightning Strikes Jersey Shore Church, Homes In Mid-Morning Storm A severe thunderstorm triggered multiple house fires and downed trees in Monmouth and Ocean counties Wednesday morning. A church was struck by lightning in Little Egg Harbor Township, and trees struck at least two homes on the 100 block of Hickory Lane in the Lincroft section of Middletown.  Power was cut as one tree crashed through a roof, fire officials said. A dark Mercedes Benz backs up to the victim’s Windermere Road driveway in the township’s Lincroft section around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, the video posted publicly on Facebook shows.
