Tickets Issued In Lakewood School Bus Crash, 6th Crash Since September: Police
A Lakewood school bus carrying three children collided with a car in which both drivers were ticketed, authorities said. Two people in the car were hospitalized. It was at least the sixth school bus crash in Lakewood this school year, according to prior news accounts. The buses are operated by Jay's Bus Service based in Lakewood. Authorities ID One Of Two Victims Slain In Jersey Shore Shooting
Two people died Wednesday in a Monmouth County, authorities said. A female victim has been identified as 18-year-old Samore Edwards of Plainfield in Union County, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office. A male victim had yet to be positively identified as of Thursday. Neptune Township police responded to the 1300 block of Washington Avenue on a report of a shooting around 8:15 p.m., according to Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey. A 37-year-old driver was unbuckled when she blew a stop sign and was struck by a garbage truck in Central Jersey leaving her critical on Tuesday, authorities said. Anna Zybura, of Keansburg, was heading north on Garfield Avenue in Toms River, when she failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection of Garfield and Windsor avenues around 7:40 a.m., local police said. A 29-year-old woman from the Jersey Shore was killed and two others were critically hurt after a motorist ran through a red light, authorities said. Crystal Calpin, 29, of Toms River was driving west on Route 37 at Oak Ridge Parkway when she collided with another car at 8:56 a.m. Monday, Toms River police said. Authorities have identified the 24-year-old victim of last week's fatal shooting in Asbury Park. Dymir Leonard died as a result of gunshot wounds, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
