2 Teenage Passengers Killed In Jersey Shore Crash: Prosecutor
Two teenage passengers were killed in a crash in Monmouth County, authorities said.Three other teens, including the driver, were injured in the single-car crash, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey. On Tuesday, April 19, at 10:38 p.m., Freehold police responded to a report of an overturned vehicle. A 59-year old man from Monmouth County has been arrested for inappropriately touching a shopper at a local grocery store, authorities said. Ehab E. Nassif of Howell was charged with fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, Howell police said. A 58-year-old Toms River resident was killed in a five-vehicle crash that closed the Garden State Parkway for hours Friday, authorities said. The 12 p.m. crash occurred on the southbound side near milepost 96.8 in Wall Township, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. It involved a Hyundai passenger car, a GMC SUV, a Ford Transit van, a Kia SUV, and a Jeep SUV. NJ Bed Bath & Beyond Store Among Dozens Closing
Nearly 40 more Bed Bath & Beyond stores will be closing in February, according to a new report from USA Today. Among them, one in New Jersey. Liquidation sales are underway at the 37 stores, including the one on River Road in Edgewater, the outlet says. Last June, the company announced it would be closing 200 stores over the next two years. Locations in Jersey City, Howell, and Rockaway were some of the first to go. Bus Fatality Under Investigation In Lakewood
The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a fatal pedestrian crash involving a New Jersey Transit bus, authorities said. A 33-year-old man, who has not been identified, was killed, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. The fatal crash occurred at about 9:45 p.m. Monday at the Lakewood Bus Terminal on Route 88, Billhimer said. Police increased security at Howell High School on Wednesday after a student posted a photo of a rifle on Snapchat, authorities said. A student was arrested Tuesday for allegedly posting the photo and threatening remarks. Another Bed Bath & Beyond store is expected to close permanently this fall, part of a nationwide closure plan affecting about 200 locations. The major retailer’s store at 400 Marin Blvd. in Jersey City is set to close in November, a store employee told NJ Advance Media. Authorities in Central Jersey said they've charged 14 suspects in connection with the possession or distribution of child pornography.
