A teen fugitive was arrested at the scene of a shooting in Atlantic City, authorities said. The 17-year-old Atlantic City boy wanted since May was taken into custody on Tuesday, Sept. 17, the Atlantic City Police Department said in a news release. He was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a large capacity magazine, possession of hollow-point ammunition, two counts of possession of a community handgun, and possession of a defaced firearm. Gang Member Gets Prison Time For Possessing Handgun In South Jersey: Prosecutor
A 22-year-old man from Atlantic City was sentenced to seven years in New Jersey State Prison for possessing a loaded handgun and other crimes, authorities said. Altarik Hopkins was additionally sentenced on Monday, Dec. 4 for resisting arrest by flight and obstructing the administration of law, according to the Atlantic City Prosecutor's Office. He must serve 42 months of the sentence before he is eligible for parole, the prosecutor said. A 22-year-old man from Atlantic City has admitted to brandishing a loaded handgun in rival gang territory, authorities said. Altarik Hopkins pleaded guilty on Monday, Oct. 2 to possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, resisting arrest and obstruction, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
