Two Pleasantville teens were hospitalized in a shooting that stemmed from a fight between two groups, authorities said. Galloway Township police said their officers were informed by Atlantic City police about two people being treated for gunshot wounds at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division. A retired Stockton University rowing head coach is battling cancer and looking for a heart transplant, according to a fundraising campaign. John Bancheri was hired in December 2018 as Stockton's first full-time women's rowing coach, the Galloway Township college said. Bancheri is an Atlantic City native with about 40 years of experience as a college rowing coach. 52 Arrested In 'Elaborate' Cockfighting Ring In South Jersey: Police
More than 50 people were arrested after police broke up a large cockfighting ring in Atlantic County, authorities said. Galloway Township police executed a search warrant at a home on the 300 block of South Bremen Avenue on Saturday, Mar. 9, the department said in a news release. When officers arrived, a large group of people were there and many tried to run away before they were detained. Men Wanted For Putting ATM Skimmers In South Jersey Wawa
Police in an Atlantic County township have released pictures of suspects wanted for adding skimming devices to ATMs in a gas station's convenience store. Galloway police said two men entered the Wawa on West White Horse Pike in the Pomona section of the township at around 7:39 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27. They were in the store for a "short period of time" and installed the skimmers on two ATMs, according to the Friday, Mar. 1 Facebook post. Violent Home Invasion Suspect Arrested In South Jersey
A Galloway Township man was arrested after he broke into someone's home and fought the person living there, authorities said. Joseph Aversa, 41, was charged with second-degree robbery, second-degree burglary, and fourth-degree criminal mischief, Absecon police said in a news release. Officers responded to a report of a home invasion on the 300 block of Spruce Street just before 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17. A Wildwood Crest man was arrested after more than two dozen dogs and cats were found living in poor conditions in Atlantic County, authorities said. Galloway Township police said 23-year-old Jason Millar was charged with cruelty to animals after officers went to a house on Zurich Avenue on Saturday, Feb. 10, to follow up on an animal complaint. A man who ran a heroin-selling network from the Atlantic County Jail was sentenced, authorities said. Emery Chapman, 44, of Pleasantville, was sentenced to 21 years in state prison, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced on Friday, Feb. 2. Chapman will be eligible for parole after nine years and once he's released, he'll have five years of "intensive parole supervision" under the No Early Release Act. A 25-year-old man from South Jersey has been indicted in a crash that killed an 8-year-old boy from Philadelphia last summer, authorities said. Edward W.
