A New Jersey prison guard pepper-sprayed an injured Pennsylvania inmate, helped steal his belongings, and lied to cover it up — and now she's been convicted at trial, federal authorities announced on Thursday, April 10.
Ivory S. Cousins, 35, of Glassboro, NJ, was found guilty of three counts of depriving the inmate of his constitutional rights under color of law and one count of filing a false report, U.S. Attorney David Metcalf said.

Portable Radios Stolen From Norwood EMS Building, Suspects From Another Squad Charged
Three emergency medical workers with another squad broke into the Norwood EMS building and stole three portable radios, authorities charged.
Two of them, Antonio Guinta, 26, and Frank Ballante, 19, both of Norwood, have been with the Moonachie First Aid & Rescue Squad a little over a year, said Franklin Smith, the squad’s captain.
The third defendant, Anthony Olsen, 47, of Laurence Harbor was an observer who’d recently been with a squad in South Jersey, Smith said.

Atlantic City Boardwalk Store Robbery Never Happened, Police Say
A store clerk has been charged after calling 9-1-1 reporting a crime that turned out to be false, authorities said.
At 12:42 p.m. on Monday, Atlantic City patrol officers were called to H & A Fashions in the 1400 block of the Boardwalk in reference to an alleged robbery and damage to the store, police said.
The store clerk, Malik Awais, told officers that several people entered the store, stole items valued at $100, pushed him as they fled, and caused property damage totaling more than $5,000, according to Lt. Kevin Fair, a police department spokesman.
