Driver High On Drugs Caused Crashes, Fought Road Worker On Garden State Parkway: Troopers
A Bayville man was accused of driving while high on drugs when he caused several crashes on the Garden State Parkway before assaulting a construction worker, authorities said. Jonathan Ferro, 21, was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 28, a state police spokesperson said. Troopers responded to multiple hit-and-run crashes near milepost 101.3 on the northbound side of the parkway in Tinton Falls at around 2:18 p.m. Investigators said Ferro was driving a Dodge pickup in the crashes and ran away from the truck when it became disabled. Fort Lee police were checking on the welfare of a man at a local high-rise when he assaulted them and was taken into custody, authorities said. Matthew D. Two Seriously Injured In Route 17 Pileup
Three people were injured, two seriously, in a multi-vehicle crash Saturday morning on Route 17. Detectives were investigating the possibility that one of the drivers may have been under the influence of drugs after they found a crack pipe in her car.
