Bridgeton Driver Hits Multiple Trees, Dies In Route 55 Deptford Crash: Njsp
A 30-year-old driver from Cumberland County was killed when he struck multiple trees in a crash along Roure 55 in Gloucester County, authorities said.
Troopers responded to the crash at 11:10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6 near milepost 59 in Deptford Township, according to New Jersey State Police spokesman Troy McNair.
Killed in the crash was Shaquile Banks, of Bridgeton, MnNair said.
Based on a preliminary investigation, Banks lost directional control of his Honda, ran off the roadway to the left, and subsequently struck multiple trees, McNair said.

Nebraska Priest Convicted Of Child Sex Assault Was Killed In South Jersey Hit-Run Crash: Report
A pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run crash in South Jersey was convicted of sexual assault of a child, NJ Advance Media reported.
The crash victim, Paul F. Margand, 65, of Deptford Township, served as a Catholic priest in Nebraska in the 1980s before his conviction, the outlet said, citing a report by the Nebraska attorney general.
Margand died on Thursday, Sept. 1 after being struck by a car while walking along Cattel Road at about 9:30 p.m., according to Deptford Township police. He was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Pickup Driver, 68, Killed In South Jersey Crash: Njsp
A 68-year-old man from Camden County was killed in a crash in Gloucester County, authorities said.
The crash occurred at 1:08 p.m. Monday, May 30, on Route 42 southbound at exit 12 in Deptford Township, New Jersey State Police said.
A Dodge Ram pickup experienced a tire malfunction and continued traveling down the roadway, State Police said.
The Dodge attempted to negotiate a right curve off of exit 12 and went off the roadway to the left, crossed over the grass median, and subsequently overturned on the on-ramp from Clements Bridge Road to Route 42 South, police said.

Thousands Without Power As Tornados Rip Through South Jersey
Tornados ripped through parts of South Jersey Wednesday evening, downing trees and destroying houses along the way, the National Weather Service has confirmed (scroll down for videos).
Firefighters in Harrison Township were conducting searches at nearly 100 homes on and around Josephine Lane as of 7 p.m., unconfirmed and initial reports say.
More than 12,000 homes and businesses were without power around that time.
