Male Critically Wounded In Central Jersey Morning Shooting
One person was left critical following a shooting in Central Jersey Sunday, authorities said. The male was found with a gunshot wound around 10:20 a.m. near Remsen Avenue and Seaman Street in New Brunswick, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he remains in critical condition. Child Suffers Head Injury While Sledding In Central Jersey: Developing
A child was seriously hurt in a Central Jersey sledding accident, according to developing reports. The mishap occurred about 2:30 p.m. Friday near Grand Teton Avenue and Newtons Corner Road in Howell Township, initial reports said. 65 Cars Involved In Icy Crashes On Major NJ Roadway
At least 65 vehicles were involved in a series of crashes on a major ice-covered road in Central Jersey, authorities said. The crashes were blamed on black ice which often forms at dawn and dusk, according to the Monmouth County sheriff. The first chain-reaction crash occurred at 6:27 a.m. Wednesday on Route 36 westbound at the Route 18 ramp, according to Eatontown police. Some New Jersey school districts will be opening late or pushing classes online Tuesday due to Monday's storm. Man Dies In Edison Mobile Home Fire: Report
An unidentified man was killed by a fire that swept through his mobile home in Central Jersey, according to NJ Advance Media. Smoke billowed out of a trailer on Plainfield Avenue off Route 1 when firefighters arrived around 10:30 a.m., fire officials told the outlet. Unbuckled Woman Critical After Running Stop Sign, Striking Garbage Truck In Toms River: PD
A 37-year-old driver was unbuckled when she blew a stop sign and was struck by a garbage truck in Central Jersey leaving her critical on Tuesday, authorities said. Anna Zybura, of Keansburg, was heading north on Garfield Avenue in Toms River, when she failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection of Garfield and Windsor avenues around 7:40 a.m., local police said. A Central Jersey school district is facing a $50 million suit from a man claiming his middle school teacher groomed and sexually abused him in the 1990s, according to multiple news reports. Firefighters were battling a major wind-whipped house fire in Central Jersey, authorities said. The two-alarm fire was reported about 3 p.m. at 39 Union St. in Carteret, initial reports said. Central Jersey Man Gets 10 Years State Prison For Realty Office Arson Fires
A 32-year-old man from Central Jersey has been sentenced to 10 years in state prison for setting fires that destroyed a realty company's offices, authorities said. The suspect also fired a weapon into one of the realtor's buildings, according to Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey. Leonard J.
