Asbury Park's Casino Building Closed Indefinitely
The historic Asbury Park Casino building, located at the southern end of the boardwalk, is closed indefinitely, authorities said.
The building was closed on Monday, May 8, following an inspection.
The announcement drew an outpouring of despair and criticism on social media.
The building's owner, Madison Marquette, said, "After a scheduled inspection of the Casino Building arcade, we have made the difficult decision to close that pass through temporarily."

Though "Chasing Amy" is a 90s Garden State classic, a new documentary is exploring its somewhat problematic legacy.
"Chasing Chasing Amy" is premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival in June, spotlighting "Chasing Amy", Kevin Smith's film about a man who falls in love with a lesbian and develops a relationship with her. Smith, a proud New Jersey native, filmed the movie throughout his home state, including in Brick, Asbury Park, Keansburg, Leonardo, Middletown, Red Bank and Rumson.
