Princeton University Confiscates E-Scooters After Campus Ban On Electric Vehicles
Princeton University has confiscated at least 80 e-scooters following a ban on electric vehicles on campus, officials confirmed. Personal electric vehicles including hoverboards and electric and motorized skateboards, are prohibited to be used, stored, parked, or charged within the campus "restricted zone," according to Princeton's policy. The policy took effect on Thursday, Jan. 25. Traumatized By Break-In, NJ College Student Develops Emergency App
An MBA fellow at Rowan University has designed an app to enhance the security of students at the Glassboro campus. Siena Rampulla was a victim of an off-campus break-in in March 2022, as reported by Daily Voice. Jorge L. Navaheredia, 29, of Sicklerville, had broken into several women's homes including Rampulla's, according to Glassboro police. He was caught hiding under a kitchen sink with panties, police said. Cybersecurity, Electrical Issues Close, Delay 2 New Jersey School Districts
One New Jersey school district is closed and another delayed Monday, Jan. 29 due to electrical and cybersecurity issues. All Freehold Township schools are closed due to a "cybersecurity event," Dr. Dianne Martello Brethauer, the assistant Freehold schools superintendent, said on X. Brethauer did not elaborate. Egg Harbor Township schools will operate on a 2-hour delayed opening schedule due to a "major electrical and mechanical issue affecting all of our schools," its website says.

Driver Who Struck Student At School Bus Stop Charged With Assault By Auto In South Jersey
The driver of a car that struck at student crossing the street to a school bus has been charged with assault by auto in Gloucester Township, authorities said. The 15-year-old student from Camden County Technical School was seriously injured by the driver who allegedly ignored the bus' extended stop bar and warning lights, according to Gloucester Township police. More Than 60K NJ Families Now Eligible For Free School Meals
A new law will make thousands of New Jersey students newly eligible for free school lunches and breakfasts. Gov. Phil Murphy signed a bill into law on Tuesday, Jan. 16, expanding the eligibility for free meals to more than 60,000 additional families. Rutgers University officials have suspended its chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine.
