Elizabeth Woman Ejected, Killed In South Jersey Turnpike Crash: Police

A 45-year-old woman was killed when she was ejected from a vehicle she was riding in, in a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike Tuesday morning, Feb. 13, authorities said.

Troopers responded to the crash at 7:15 a.m. on the southbound side of the highway in Westampton, where the driver of a Chevrolet lost directional control, ran off the roadway to the right, traveled down an embankment and subsequently overturned, Trooper Troy McNair said.

Angela Claros Antonio, of Elizabeth, was ejected near milepost 42.1, and died, McNair said.

The driver and two other passengers suffered minor injuries and were taken to an area hospital, the trooper said.

The accident remains under investigation and there is no additional information available.
