'She Was Sent To Me:' Nutley Woman Adopts Dog Struck On Route 4 After Losing Her Own
Natalie D’Angelo believes her beloved dog Zoey, who passed away in March, played a role in bringing Stella into her life. On Friday, Dec. 20, the 41-year-old Nutley resident adopted Stella, the dog who had survived being struck by a car on Route 4 in Hackensack, from the Bergen County Animal Shelter in Teterboro. “I just lost my dog in March—she was a half dachshund—and because of that, I felt like maybe Stella was being sent to me from her,” D’Angelo said with Stella in her lap on the floor of the shelter. “I feel like I have the love of my other dog back.” View …

Dog Who Captured Hearts After Being Struck By Car On NJ Highway Almost Ready For Adoption
A dog hit by a car earlier this month on Route 4 is nearly ready for a fur-ever family. Stella was struck by the vehicle in Hackensack on Oct. 13 and taken to Oradell Animal Hospital, where she was treated for broken ribs and a fractured pelvis. Stella has been transferred to the Bergen County Animal Shelter in Teterboro, where officials said she needs between four and six more weeks of recovery time before she can be adopted out. Fire Ravages Englewood Home
Flames blew through the roof of an Englewood home ravaged by a ferocious fire. The blaze apparently ignited on the second floor of the 2½-story, $1 million wood-frame home on Walton Street just off Jones Road shortly after 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 13. It was well-involved when firefighters arrived, requiring a defensive operation. A huge column of smoke could be seen from nearby Route 4. No injuries were reported. : Route 17 Ramp To Route 4 In Paramus Reopened After Box Truck Crash
A ramp at Routes 4 and 17 in Paramus was reopened shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday after a box truck tipped onto its side a few hours earlier. The driver climbed out after the leased truck crashed on the cloverleaf ramp from northbound Route 17 to westbound Route 4 around 7:30 a.m. June 8, responders at the scene said.
