Masked Bank Robber Arrested Weeks Later, West Orange Police Say
A 25-year-old East Orange man who robbed a bank in West Orange in May was arrested on Tuesday, June 11, police said.
On Wednesday, May 1 at 9:21 a.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery at Ascendia Bank on Northfield Avenue, police said.
Bryant Goodwyn Jr., was wearing a mask when he entered the bank and demanded a specified amount of cash from the teller while threatening a weapon, police said. He then fled on foot from the bank, police said.

A man was assaulted with a pipe and robbed in Newark on the early morning of Friday, May 31, authorities said.
At 3:41 a.m., two men and a woman struck the man with a metal pipe in his head, face, back and arm on the 400 block of North 5th Street, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said.
The trio took the man's iPhone, $700 in cash and then fled in a silver 2006 Honda Ridgeline pickup truck with New Jersey license plate P97RBZ, Fragé said.

A repeat offender heartlessly punched a disabled man on a Ridgefield Park street and took the 75 cents he'd been carrying for bus fare, authorities said.
Joshua Bendewald, 30, approached the victim near the corner of Main Street and Grand Avenue and “asked him how much money he had” around 11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, Ridgefield Park Police Lt. Justin Tress said.

A woman robbed a Salvation Army in Newark, assaulting an employee on Wednesday, May 15, authorities said.
At 4 p.m., police responded to the Salvation Army Thrift Shop and Donation Center at 74 Pennington St. in Newark on a report of a robbery, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said.
