Two Charged In Crash That Injured Kearny Moped Operator On Super Bowl Sunday: Prosecutor Two Kearny residents were arrested and charged on Monday, Dec. 2  after a moped operator was seriously injured in a crash on Super Bowl Sunday authorities said. On Sunday, Feb. 11, a moped operator was struck by a cargo van in the area of Harrison Avenue and Bergen Avenue in Kearny, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Chief Peter Cooke Jr., 58, the chief in Englishtown, was charged with third-degree computer theft and third-degree conspiracy to commit shoplifting, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
