'Deranged' Man Attacks Nanny, Curses At Kids In Hoboken Park On Halloween: Police, Campaign
A 31-year-old man was arrested after police say he was cursing at children and then attacked a nanny in a Hoboken park on Thursday, Oct. 31, Halloween, according to police and the nanny's family. Officers were called to Church Square Park around 12:30 p.m. where a man later identified Troy Timberlake had been cursing at children and elderly people, Hoboken City spokeswoman Marci Rubin. Officials ID Driver Killed By NJ Transit Train In Morris County
NJ Transit officials have released the name of the motorist killed by a train earlier this week in Morris County. Michael Carbone, 77, of Pompton Plains, was struck by Montclair-Boonton Line train 1074 after he disregarded the crossing gates at the Ryerson Road crossing in Lincoln Park around 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, a spokesperson for NJ Transit said. Hoboken PATH Station Closing In February For Repairs: Port Authoit
As part of a repair project, the Port Authority announced the PATH Hoboken station will be closed from Thursday, Jan. 30 to Tuesday, Feb. 25. The move comes as part of the agency's two-year $430 million PATH Forward program. During the closure, the Port Authority will carry out critical safety repairs and improvements across several elements of the 116-year-old system. A 37-year-old Hackensack man was convicted on Tuesday, Oct. 29 for his role in a string of armed robberies in Hudson County over the course of one night in April 2022, authorities said. The conviction stem from four armed robberies that were reported between the late night hours of Friday, April 29, 2022 and the early morning hours of Saturday, April 30, 2022. Service has been restored to Hoboken residents after a water main break Tuesday morning, Oct. 29, officials said. The 12-inch leak occurred around 8 a.m. at 5th and Clinton. Water pressure throughout the system was stabilized as of noon.

A driver was killed after being struck by an NJ Transit train Monday morning, Oct. 28 in Morris County, authorities said. A drunk driver was arrested after they crashed into a light rail train on the early morning of Friday, Oct. 25, authorities said. At 12:15 a.m., a Hudson-Bergen light rail vehicle was struck by the vehicle at Paterson Plank Road crossing near 2nd Street station in Hoboken, NJ Transit said. 2,600 Layoffs Expected At NJ Hospital Chain
Nearly 2,600 people employed by a North Jersey hospital chain are expected to be laid off by the end of the year, according to a newly-filed WARN notice. This month, Carepoint Health filed notices with New Jersey's labor department indicating layoffs would begin on Dec. 12 at healthcare centers in Bayonne, Jersey City, and Hoboken.
