NJ Man Fights Officers While Violating Protection Order In CT: Cops A 41-year-old New Jersey man got into a fight with multiple Connecticut police officers trying to stop him as he violated a protective order in New Haven County, authorities said.  Jose Valentin Duran-Castillo, of Phillipsburg, NJ, faces several felony charges following his arrest on Friday, Oct. 18, East Haven Police said. Creepy Essex County Package Thief Had Photocopied License Of Homeowner, Cops Say A 31-year-old Irvington mas was arrested and charged on Tuesday, Oct. 8 with concocting a scheme to steal almost $2,500 in packages from a home in Hasbrouck Heights, authorities said. Officers were called to a home on the 400 block of Burton Avenue on a report of a man attempting to intercept packages, Hasbrouck Heights police said. Ryan Rawls told officers he worked for a company that was a Verizon authorized dealer and worked in a division specializing in packages that had been delivered to the wrong address, police said. Lyndhurst Police Sgt. William Kapp was on patrol on Disposal Road, which rests adjacent to the DeKorte Park complex, when he came across an older model Ford pickup truck on Sunday, Sept. 8, Detective Lt. Summit Man Busted Attempting Home Break-In To Take SUV A 28-year-old Summit man was arrested and charged on Sunday, Aug. 4 after he attempted multiple times to break into a residence in an attempt to steal a car, police said. At 3:27 p.m., a woman reported a man, later identified as Rene Gustavo Hernandez broke a portion of her fence before attempting to gain entry to her locked 2019 Subaru Forester parked outside her residence, Summit police said in a release.
