A 20-year-old Mexican national was found with a fraudulent Social Security card and U.S. Permanent Resident card after police say he tried breaking into two Bergen County homes while residents were home. A Newark man who tried burglarizing homes in part of a luxury car theft ring last spring in Maywood and Rochelle Park was taken into custody last month, police said. Alexander M. Colon, 20, was among two men in face masks who Maywood police said were trying to break into a Maywood home on Wednesday, May 22, around 2:50 a.m., Maywood Police Sgt. William Phayre said. Three men seen trying to break into a home were arrested following a police pursuit, Saturday, Aug. 16 in North Jersey, authorities said. At 3:10 p.m., officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a home on Forest Place, where three men with ski masks were at the back door, Fairfield police said in a release. Three people were arrested on Monday, June 24 after attempting two burglaries in Nutley, police said. At 5:15 a.m., burglars driving a four-door gray Hyundai attempted to enter a window into a residence at Conover Avenue, Nutley police said. The burglars were scared off by a barking dog, police said.
