6 To 9 Inches Of Snow Now Predicted For Central Jersey: See The Updated Winter Storm Forecast The National Weather Service (NWS) in Mount Holly has expanded Winter Storm Warnings to include all of southeastern Pennsylvania and portions of central New Jersey.  The forecast has trended colder and snowier, with 6 to 9 inches of snow expected north and west of the I-95 corridor, including Philadelphia. Snow Totals: These NJ Towns Were Hit Hardest By Winter Storm Schools across South Jersey were closed Monday, Jan. 6 due to snow, with Cape May County recording the highest totals, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).  A winter storm swept across the state, dumping up to 8 inches of snow in some areas and creating picturesque scenes — and some travel headaches. The highest snowfall in the state was measured 2 miles northwest of Cape May, where a cooperative observer reported 8.1 inches of accumulation at 1 p.m., the NWS reports. The mayor and public safety director of Long Branch issued a joint statement on Tuesday, June 4 about a "significant police presence" over the upcoming weekend.
