Two People Saved When Sailboat Runs Aground Along Jersey Shore, Firefighters Say Two people were rescued after their large sailboat ran aground in Ocean City, officials said. Emergency crews responded to the beach near 22nd Street at around 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, the Ocean City Firefighters Association said in a Facebook post. Roland "Rocky" Gannon "passed quietly and peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by family" on Tuesday, June 4, according to his obituary. He was 99 years old.
