Middlesex County Shooting Ruled Suicide, Prosecutor Says A shooting death in Middlesex County on Wednesday, Sep. 18 has been ruled a suicide, authorities said. The victim's family member called 9-1-1 around 2:45 p.m., bringing Carteret police to Pershing and Union Avenue around 2:45 p.m., Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Carteret Police Chief Dennis McFadden said. Toms River Woman Sentenced In Roommate's Shower Rod, Tape Dispenser Killing: Prosecutors A Toms River woman will spend at least eight years in prison after admitting to her role in the death of her roommate, a former Manchester High School janitor, authorities said. Mary Carbone, 60, was sentenced on Friday, Sept. 13 to ten years in state prison, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release. Body Found Near Shoreline At State Park Along Jersey Shore: Njdep A person was found dead near the shoreline of Barnegat Lighthouse State Park, officials said. State park police were dispatched to the area at around 1:50 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, a state Department of Environmental Protection spokesperson said. The person's body was discovered off the western shore of the High Bar Harbor section in Long Beach Island Township. The body was sent to the Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office. An autopsy will be performed to identify the person and the cause of death. Barnegat Lighthouse was first illuminated in 1859, NJDEP also said.
