Middlesex County Shooting Ruled Suicide, Prosecutor Says A shooting death in Middlesex County on Wednesday, Sep. 18 has been ruled a suicide, authorities said. The victim's family member called 9-1-1 around 2:45 p.m., bringing Carteret police to Pershing and Union Avenue around 2:45 p.m., Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Carteret Police Chief Dennis McFadden said. Body Found Near Shoreline At State Park Along Jersey Shore: Njdep A person was found dead near the shoreline of Barnegat Lighthouse State Park, officials said. State park police were dispatched to the area at around 1:50 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, a state Department of Environmental Protection spokesperson said. The person's body was discovered off the western shore of the High Bar Harbor section in Long Beach Island Township. The body was sent to the Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office. An autopsy will be performed to identify the person and the cause of death. Barnegat Lighthouse was first illuminated in 1859, NJDEP also said.

Man Found Dead On Jersey Shore Beach, Police Investigating A man was found dead on a beach in Cape May County, authorities said. Wildwood Crest police responded to the beach near Myrtle Road at around 6:20 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, the department said in a news release. The 911 caller was performing CPR on the unconscious man when police arrived.
