Dive Teams Pull Victim From NJ Pond In 2nd Possible Drowning In 12 Hours
Less than 12 hours after responding to a drowning a Crystal Lake, dive teams and emergency responders from across Ocean County were called to a similar incident. This time, in one of the ponds off of Whitesbog Road in Manchester Township, responders said. According to the Whiting Fire Department, dive teams responded to the scene just after 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 22, on reports of a victim submerged in one of the ponds. A small black bear was sighted on Thursday morning, June 20 in West Windsor. The sighting occurred on Village Road West near the Mercer Oaks Golf Course, West Windsor police said. Bear sightings can be reported to the New Jersey Department of Fish & Wildlife at 877-927-6337.

Woman Clinging To Tree, Her Dog Rescued After Falling In Ocean County
Firefighters rescued a woman who was clinging to a tree after she and her dog fell in Brick Township, officials said. Herbertsville firefighters responded to the scene on Winding River Road at around 6:44 p.m. on Monday, June 17, the fire company said in a Facebook post. Crews found the woman and her dog fell 10 to 15 feet down an embankment. The woman was hanging onto a tree to prevent falling any further. Authorities have released additional information in the double shooting Wednesday, June 12 in Carteret. Two females were found having suffered gunshot wounds on Roosevelt Avenue around 9 a.m., and were airlifted to area hospitals, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Carteret Police Chief Dennis McFadden said. As of 2:30 p.m., one victim had died and the other remains critical, Ciccone and McFadden said. A teen was accused of a stabbing on the Ocean City Boardwalk that caused a chaotic scene on Memorial Day weekend, authorities said.
