A 24-year-old man from Camden has been sentenced to 11 years in New Jersey State Prison for a fatal hit-and-run crash in Middlesex County. Giovanni Gaines-Little was sentenced on Monday, July 29 in connection with a crash that occurred on Feb. 25, 2023, in South Brunswick, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone. Two women ages 21 and 22 were killed and multiple others injured in a four-vehicle crash on Black Horse Pike in Atlantic County Friday, July 26, multiple news reports say. Scrap Metal Company VP, 24, Killed In Jersey Shore Weekend Crash
The vice president of a scrap metal company died in a crash in Ocean County, authorities said. Kevin Scoda, 24, of Edison, was killed in the crash on Route 72, the Stafford Township Police Department said in a news release on Tuesday, July 23. Officers responded to the scene near milepost 24.5 at around 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, July 20. A 73-year-old driver from Somerset County died of his injuries on Sunday, July 21 — five days after a single-car crash on Interstate 287 in Middlesex County, authorities said. Bill Schocklin was driving south near milepost 8.8 in Pisscataway at about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16 when his Nissan veered off I-287, struck a guard rail and overturned, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Five people were injured in a three-car crash on the Garden State Parkway in Central Jersey, authorities said. New Jersey State troopers responded to a crash on Sunday, July 14 at 4:40 p.m. on the parkway southbound at milepost 126.5 in Sayreville, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a State Police spokesman. A total of five passengers sustained minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation and there is no additional information available at this time.

DUI Driver Crashed Stolen Car On Route 1: Police
Authorities have identified the driver of a stolen car that crashed into a utility pole along Route 1 in Central Jersey. Jordan White, 35, of Paterson, crashed on Friday,, June 28, South Brunswick police said. He was seriously injured, they said. White allegedly was under the influence of drugs, police said, and the 2007 Lincoln Town car he was driving was stolen. He was charged with receiving stolen property, driving under the influence, and numerous motor vehicle violations, police said.

An Avon-by-the-Sea man was accused of driving while intoxicated when he crashed into a vehicle and drove onto the Belmar boardwalk, authorities said. Car Rolls Over Man Trying To Prevent GF From Leaving In South Brunswick, Cops Say
A 46-year-old man from South Brunswick was hospitalized after a car rolled over him as he sat in front of it in an attempt to prevent his girlfriend from leaving, police said. The man and his 37-year-old girlfriend were arguing outside of a Harvey Road home around 7:30 a.m. Monday, July 8, when the man sat in front of the vehicle, according to police. The woman got out of the car to tell him to move but had left the car in drive, police said. That's when the car rolled over the man, leaving him seriously injured. He ws rushed to RWJUH. Two women were hospitalized, including one who was airlifted, after their cars crashed in Ocean County, authorities said. Berkeley Township police responded to the crash at the intersection of Jamaica Boulevard and Bimini Drive at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, the department said in a news release. Officers found a tan Toyota Camry and a white Honda Civic with heavy damage. Investigators said the Toyota was heading west on Jamaica and failed to stop at a stop sign. Driver Falls Asleep, Causes Power Outage For 1,000 In Barnegat, Police Say
Nearly 1,000 people are without power in Barnegat Sunday morning, June 30 due to a car that ran off the road when its driver fell asleep at the wheel and struck a utility pole, police said. The 23-year-old woman crashed a 2019 Honda eastbound on West Bay Avenue, snapping the pole and leaving 1,000 homes in the dark, police said. Atlantic City Electric was on scene making repairs and restoring power to the area. The driver was treated on scene by Quality Medical but refused further medical attention.
