Hunterdon County Animal Control Officer Refused To Return Bulldog: Prosecutor
A Hunterdon County animal control officer has been arrested and charged with official misconduct and theft after authorities say she refused to give a dog back to its rightful owner. Carolyn Murphy, the Frenchtown Animal Control Officer, had been asked to take temporary custody of an American bulldog on April 11, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée M. Robeson said. A French bulldog named Klipse who went tumbling 40 feet down a cliff at Palisades Interstate Park was rescued by Port Authority Police officers on Tuesday morning July 30, PAPD spokeswoman Lenis Valens said. It was a happy ending for a parrot that got loose in Morris County on Saturday, July 20. The Morris County Sheriff's Office responded to Hedden Park for a report of a loose parrot near the Concord Avenue parking lot, authorities said. When police arrived, they saw patrons holding a large stick with a parrot perched on top, the Morris County Sherriff's Office said. Dog Bites Troopers On Route 80:

A loose dog was a little overzealous on Route 80 in Warren County on Tuesday, May 28, authorities said. Troopers responded to a report of a dog running on Route 80 eastbound in Allamuchy Township, Jeffrey Lebron a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. When troopers and civilians tried to capture the dog, they were bitten, Lebron said. The troopers and civilians suffered minor injuries, Lebron said. The dog was captured and turned over to nearby animal control, Lebron said.
