South Jersey Man Charged With Murder In 22-Year-Old's Killing, Prosecutors Say
A Vineland man was accused of killing a Whitesboro man in Woodbine, authorities said. Hakeem Denby, 34, was given charges for murder and several weapons offenses, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland said in a news release on Monday, Nov. 4. A New Jersey fugitive wanted in a deadly train station shooting and a home invasion was arrested in northeastern Pennsylvania, authorities said. U.S. Marshals took 19-year-old Damian Bass into custody, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release on Friday, Sept. 6. Bass' last known address was in Fanwood. A 20-year-old New Brunswick man has pleaded guilty in connection with an April shooting near the Rutgers University campus, authorities said. Christian Farmer pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted murder and a weapons offense on Wednesday, July 24, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Vincent Sabo of the New Brunswick Police Department. A 37-year-old man from Edison was charged in the fatal stabbing of a woman he knew, authorities said. Joan Franklin Polanco, 37, was detained by NYPD hours after the Sunday, July 21 stabbing, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Edison Police Chief Thomas Bryan.
