Police ID Pedestrian Killed Near Freehold Raceway A 76-year-old Manalapan man was killed after he was struck by a cargo van in Freehold on Wednesday morning, Aug. 7, authorities said. Frank Tommasini who was crossing Park Avenue at Ann Street when he was struck by a 2022 Ram ProMaster van heading west on Route 33 around 11:25 a.m.,  Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said. Driver Killed In Central Jersey Crash, State Police Say One person was killed in a crash in Monmouth County, authorities said. A driver died in the crash in Howell Township on Tuesday, July 9, according to state police data. The wreck happened on Fort Plains Road at around 4:53 p.m. Howell police said the crash was between Bergerville Road and Arrowwood Court in the Wyckoff Mills section of the township. The roads reopened by 8:30 p.m. Chief John Storrow said the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Serious Collision and Response Team is investigating the crash.
