Woman Used Counterfeit Bills At Ice Cream Shop: Raritan Police
A 33-year-old Bound Brook woman was arrested and charged after she used counterfeit cash at an ice cream shop in Raritan on Tuesday, Dec, 18. authorities said. Maria Orellana-Galvez paid for $72 worth of ice cream at As You Like It Ice Cream on West Somerset Street with two fraudulent $100 bills, Raritan Borough police said. Orellana-Galvez was charged on Wednesday, Jan. 1 with forgery and theft by deception, police said.

Piscataway Man Gets Seven Years For Sexually Assaulting 12-Year-Old: Somerset Prosecutor
A 22-year-old Piscataway man was sentenced to seven years in prison on Monday, Nov. 18, after he was previously convicted of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl he'd met online in 2021, authorities said. In July 2021, a 12-year-old girl said she was sexually assaulted in Bound Brook by Lenic Galvan, a man she met on social media, Somerset County Prosecutor John McDonald said. Firefighters Battle 3-Alarm Blaze In Middlesex County
Two homes were heavily damaged by a three-alarm fire that started in a garage in Middlesex Borough, authorities said. On Friday, June 14, at 2:40 a.m., the Middlesex Borough Police Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 832 West Second Street. Officers arrived on scene and confirmed that a garage was fully engulfed in flames.
