A Toms River man was accused of shooting another man in the leg, authorities said. Anthony Brown, 20, was arrested on Thursday, June 13, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release. He was facing charges in a late-night shooting on Wednesday, June 12. Homicide Suspect Killed By Police Officers At NJ Hotel, AG Says
Two police officers are recovering from injuries after being shot overnight at a hotel in Woodbridge while attempting to track down a homicide suspect. The suspect was shot and killed at the scene, according to New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin. Authorities have released additional information in the double shooting Wednesday, June 12 in Carteret. Two females were found having suffered gunshot wounds on Roosevelt Avenue around 9 a.m., and were airlifted to area hospitals, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Carteret Police Chief Dennis McFadden said. As of 2:30 p.m., one victim had died and the other remains critical, Ciccone and McFadden said. A 21-year-old woman was shot at a large party Friday night, June 7 in Highland Park, authorities said. Police were dispatched to the 200 block of South 7th Avenue at about 11:30 p.m. after getting a call about a disturbance. They found the woman shot three times, Highland Park police said.
