Multiple Central Jersey residents were baffled by a loud boom that shook their houses on Wednesday, Oct. 30. Ring app users reported hearing and feeling the massive explosion around noon. One person speculated some commotion at Naval Weapons Station Earle, in Colts Neck, and another said this is not the first time that the boom has occurred. Truck Driver Killed In Route 3 Explosion ID'd, 29 NJ Transit Passengers Escape Injury
Authorities have identified the truck driver killed in the crash and explosion earlier this week on Route 3 in Clifton. Luis Santiago, 55, of Linden, was operating the commercial truck that clipped an NJ Transit bus carrying 29 passengers in the eastbound lanes Monday morning, July 22, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Clifton Police Chief Thomas Rinaldi said. Santiago's truck then crashed into a barrier near Valley Road and Grove Street, causing the vehicle to erupt in flames. 2 Hospitalized By Explosion At Industrial Gas Supply Company In NJ Town
Two people were injured after an explosion at an industrial gas company in Branchburg on the early morning of Wednesday, June 5, authorities said. At 4:30 a.m., first responders arrived at 197 Meister Ave. and found smoke visible from the Air Liquide building, Branchburg police said in a release. Two people suffering from chemical burns were transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment, police said. Air Liquide is a French industrial gas supplier, its website says.
