Clifton Student Made Bomb, Shooting, Death Threats That Were 'Highly Specific,' Police Say
A 17-year-old Clifton High School student has been arrested and charged with making multiple violent threats targeting students, staff, and the school itself, authorities said.
Detectives from the Clifton Police Juvenile Division arrested the teen male on Monday, Feb. 3, following an investigation into four reported incidents between Jan. 27 and Jan. 29, Clifton Police Lt. Robert Anderson said.
The threats, which included bomb threats, school shooting threats, and death threats, were sent electronically and were highly specific in nature, Anderson said.

A 19-year-old Paterson man who police say committed multiple traffic violations in an ATV on major roadways was found with a handgun and burglary tools after leading a foot pursuit, authorities in Clifton said.
The incident began around 5:03 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, when Clifton Officers Benjamin Bressel and Fabricio Martinez, patrolling near the Route 21 North and Route 46 East merge, spotted a rider on a 2014 Honda TRX ATV, Lt. A worker was killed Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 12, when a baling machine fell on him at a Clifton recycling plant, officials confirmed.
Jose D. Centeno, of Elizabeth, went underneath the heavy machine at Ricova Recycling at 1 Broad St. around 3:30 p.m. and became crushed, according to a spokesperson from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Clifton police.
