99-Year-Old Driver Killed In Route 37 Crash: Lakehurst PD
A 99-year-old Manchester man was killed in a two-car crash on Route 37 on Tuesday, Feb. 4, authorities said. At 10:44 a.m., officers responded to a crash on Route 37 and Brown Avenue in Lakehurst, police said. A 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis, operated by Harry Paulson, was exiting the Sunoco gas station at 200 Route 37 when failed to yield to oncoming traffic and collided with a 2019 Ford F-150 pickup driven by a 78-year-old South Toms River man, police said. A spare tire sent flying on the Garden State Parkway left a 21-year-old motorist seriously injured on Friday, Oct. 18, police said. The Flemington woman was operating a Volkswagen passenger vehicle in the southbound lanes when a spare wheel became dislodged from another vehicle in the northbound lanes around 3:25 p.m. in South Toms River, New Jersey State Police Sgt. South Toms River Man Led Chase As Officers Investigated Kidnapping Report In Whiting: Police
A South Toms River man was accused of leading police on a chase as they investigated a possible kidnapping in Whiting, authorities said. Thomas Stevens, 67, was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 3, the Manchester Township Police Department said in a news release. His arrest came after officers responded to a report of a woman "being forced into a vehicle against her will" at the Wawa convenience store on Route 70 at around 3 p.m. An officer found Stevens driving a black 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe and stopped him on County Route 530.
