Firefighters responded to the home on South Gateway at around 9:05 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1, the Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention said in a news release. No people were in the house during the two-alarm fire. Crews found heavy smoke and fire coming from a second-story bedroom. Family Escapes Fire That Destroys Home In Central Jersey A South Brunswick family is safe after escaping a fire that destroyed their home. South Brunswick police responded at 7:45 p.m. Saturday to a report of a home on fire at 4 Beryl Court in the Kendall Park section of the Township.  Upon arrival, officers and firefighters observed heavy flames at the rear of the home.  The homeowner said he was able to get his wife, two sons, and pets out of the home before police arrived.  He explained he was outside his home when he noticed smoke from the rear of his ranch-style home. Person Hospitalized After Shed Catches Fire In South Jersey: Police A person was hospitalized after a shed caught fire in Ocean County, authorities said. Manchester Township police responded to a structure fire on Riverside Drive at around 9:40 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, the department said in a news release. Officers found a shed in the side yard of a home fully on fire. Officers evacuated everyone from the house and paramedics took one person to a hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
