Toms River Woman Sentenced In Roommate's Shower Rod, Tape Dispenser Killing: Prosecutors
A Toms River woman will spend at least eight years in prison after admitting to her role in the death of her roommate, a former Manchester High School janitor, authorities said. Mary Carbone, 60, was sentenced on Friday, Sept. 13 to ten years in state prison, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release. She must serve eight-and-a-half years before she's eligible for parole under the No Early Release Act. Carbone pleaded guilty on Monday, July 8 to aggravated manslaughter. Body Found Near Shoreline At Barnegat Lighthouse State Park:

A person was found dead near the shoreline of Barnegat Lighthouse State Park, officials said. State park police were dispatched to the area at around 1:50 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, a state Department of Environmental Protection spokesperson said. The person's body was discovered off the western shore of the High Bar Harbor section in Long Beach Island Township. The body was sent to the Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office. An autopsy will be performed to identify the person and the cause of death. Barnegat Lighthouse was first illuminated in 1859, NJDEP also said.

Man Found Dead On Jersey Shore Beach, Police Investigating
A man was found dead on a beach in Cape May County, authorities said. Wildwood Crest police responded to the beach near Myrtle Road at around 6:20 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, the department said in a news release. The 911 caller was performing CPR on the unconscious man when police arrived. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of his death was pending an autopsy. A Galloway Township woman was found dead in Atlantic City, authorities said. In a news release, Atlantic City police said officers responded to a report of the woman's body near the intersection of Hummock and Trinity avenues at around 10:11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12. Police and firefighters confirmed the 34-year-old woman was dead. Investigators were looking into what led up to her death.
