Navy Sailor Left Grieving Dog Sees Community Support After NJ Hit-Run
Support is on the rise for a 25-year-old Atlantic County man and former US Navy sailor who was left with critical injuries in a hit-and-run crash, which also killed his dog. Syed Hoque and his dog, Duca, were struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday, Nov. 30, in Absecon, authorities said. The crash occurred shortly after midnight at Highland Boulevard and Marlborough Avenue, where Duca was tragically killed. Rabid Fox Bites Person Walking Dog In Gloucester Township, Health Officials Say
A person was bitten by a rabid fox while helping walk a dog in Gloucester Township, officials said. A Gloucester resident and their family member walked the dog when they encountered the fox on Friday, Nov. 8, the Camden County Health Department said in a news release. The family member tried to separate the fox and dog when the fox bit the person. Dog Who Encountered Rabid Skunk Quarantining In South Jersey Town
An encounter with a rabid skunk has one South Jersey dog quarantining. An animal control officer responded to a Collingswood home on Thursday, Sept. 5, after a homeowner reported a skunk found in the backyard with the family dog, Camden County officials said in a release this week. Four days later, officials learned that the skunk had tested positive for rabies.
