Newark Carjacker Crosses County Lines In Police Pursuit: Authorities A carjacker is at large after he was able to elude police during a pursuit that began in Newark on the early morning of Tuesday, Feb. 11, authorities said. At 2:57 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Irvine Turner Boulevard after a Chevy Malibu had been carjacked and the driver was assaulted, Newark Public Safety Director Eugene Miranda said. At 9:36 a.m. police observed the carjacked vehicle near the Delancey Street exit of Routes 1 and 9, Miranda said.. Man Killed In Fatal Jersey Motorcycle Crash: Authorities A 43-year-old Jersey City resident was killed in a fatal crash in Jersey City on Thursday, Oct. 31, authorities said. At 8:55 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department responded to a motorcycle crash at Sip Avenue and Routes 1&9, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Responding officers found the motorcycle and a GMC passenger vehicle collided near the intersection, Suarez said.  The injured motorcyclist, Steven Brown, was transported to Jersey City Medical Center he was soon pronounced dead, Suarez said.
