One person was hospitalized after a high rise fire produced a daring rescue in North Bergen on the morning of Thursday, Jan. 23, authorities said. At 10 a.m., firefighters responded to a fire at the Stonehenge building on the 28th floor of 8200 Blvd. East, North Bergen police said. A New Jersey police officer who doubles as a firefighter saved a woman from a burning home, and it was all caught on his body-worn camera. Clark Fire Capt. Thomas Sweeney was working his shift as a Millburn police officer when a fire broke out at a home on Old Short Hills Road around 2:45 a.m. Sunday morning, Oct. 26. Two firefighters were injured battling a two-alarm fire in Newark on Monday, July 22, authorities said.
